What Spawned Myer's Need to Kill Crackers

"Can anyone out there score me some consecrated communion wafers? There's no way I can personally get them — my local churches have stakes prepared for me, I'm sure — but if any of you would be willing to do what it takes to get me some, or even one, and mail it to me, I'll show you sacrilege, gladly, and with much fanfare. I won't be tempted to hold it hostage (no, not even if I have a choice between returning the Eucharist and watching Bill Donohue kick the pope in the balls, which would apparently be a more humane act than desecrating a goddamned cracker), but will instead treat it with profound disrespect and heinous cracker abuse, all photographed and presented here on the web. I shall do so joyfully and with laughter in my heart. If you can smuggle some out from under the armed guards and grim nuns hovering over your local communion ceremony, just write to me and I'll send you my home address,"

Fucking Myers

"OK, time for the anticlimax. I know some of you have proposed intricate plans for how to do horrible things to these crackers, but I repeat…it's just a cracker. I wasn't going to make any major investment of time, money, or effort in treating these dabs of unpleasantness as they deserve, because all they deserve is casual disposal. However, inspired by an old woodcut of Jews stabbing the host, I thought of a simple, quick thing to do: I pierced it with a rusty nail (I hope Jesus's tetanus shots are up to date). And then I simply threw it in the trash, followed by the classic, decorative items of trash cans everywhere, old coffeegrounds and a banana peel. My apologies to those who hoped for more, but the worst I can do is show my unconcerned contempt."

Really?

Autumn and Charlie's Wedding

It was so beautiful. While I was driving home at 2 am i realized that if this had been 5 months ago and things hadn't changed, i would have never gone to the wedding. I would have never been such great friends with those girls. I am so lucky that i got the opportunity to be amazing friends with them.

Things That Scare Me

1. Saint Martin Airport- The top deadliest airport. Note the picture. Which is real.

2. This tree.

3. PLANES. Mandarin Airlines Flight 642 from Bangkok to Hong Kong crashed upon landing.
4. Sometimes buildings scare me.

The Dancing House in the Czech Republic
Robot Building in Thailand

Ghost Towns

I was reading Andrew Sullivan's blog and ran across this, so i have to put it up. So scary.

10 Most Amazing Ghost Towns

1. Kolmanskop Namibia- Once a booming diamond town, after WWI the town was deserted and the dunes built up. Only a few buildings remain, all completely covered in sand.
2. Chernobyl- Enough said.
3. San Zhi in Taiwan- A once futuristic resort for the rich. However, after numerous fatal accidents during construction, production was halted. Rumors suggest that the city is haunted by the ghosts of those who died.

4. Craco, Italy- An old medieval town in 1891. In less than 30 years over 1500 people moved away due to poor farming, earthquakes, landslides, and war. It is still crumbling today.

5. Oradour-Sur-Glane, France- Thanks WWII. 642 people were massacred by German soldiers as a punishment for the French Resistance. The Germans mistakenly invaded this town. Men were herded into barns where they were shot in the legs so they could die more slowly. Women and children were killed by machine-gun fire.

6. Gunkanjima, Japan. In the Nagasaki area of Japan known as battleship island due to high sea walls. It was once one of the highest population densities ever recorded. Mines were eventually shut down in the 70's and travel is not prohibited. It was where "Battle Royale II" was filmed.

7. Kadykchan, Russia- A small city that fell into ruins after the Soviet collapsed. The state moved all residents due to no running water or medical. Residents left their belongings, all of which are still there in the empty city.
8. Kowloon Walled City, China- It was once a former watchpost to protect the area from pirates, it was a lawless city because no country wanted responsibility over it. The buildings got so tall the sunlight couldn't reach the bottom levels and the entire city had to be illuminated with fluorescent lights. Brothels, casinos, opium dens, cocaine parlors, food courts serving dog eat and secret factories were all ran by authorities. It was torn down in 1993.

9. Famagusta, Cyprus- It used to be a modern tourist area, but for the last 3 decades it has been left alone. Only Turkish military and UN personnel were let in and no steps were ever taken to make it what it used to be. Sea turtles nest on the beaches now.
10. Agdam, Azerbaijan-Once a city of 150,000, it was taken over in 1993 and felt victim to vandalism by the Armenians. Buildings are gutted and empty with only graffiti left.

Planning Time

Since i am graduating in exactly one month i figured now is as good as time as ever to start figuring out next fall. My dream has always been law school, since i was little. Parts of me have tried to convince myself to settle for graduate school, but there is just something about law school that inspires the hell out of me.

SO.

First thing is first. LSAT prep courses. After chatting with Jay (who will be attending Berkley Law in 3 weeks) and my law school adviser (Chen) i will obviously be partaking in the prep course. Sadly, Bellingham has only offered one prep course, which was a few months ago, depending on how much money they made is how they will decide to do another one or not. I don't want to wait around for them to decide that. The next option is then Seattle. What is amazing about this is, they have a weekend prep course that takes place a few weekends before each LSAT. They are Saturday and Sunday, 7 hour days. This is what i will do unless for some amazing happening Bellingham pulls through (doubtful).

The LSAT test dates are as follows: Oct. 4th and Feb. 7th (These are both held at UW, where i would be taking them) There is one in December, however i am not sure if it is held at UW yet (Dec. would be the best).

Schools....

Apply, apply, apply because why not?

-Seattle University
More will follow.
In New York. Live the dream right?

Tuesday Thoughts

Last night, Travis and I went to Rumors and played free pool, of which i won :) along with watching ridiculous people sing karaoke. I do admire them, because you could not pay me to do that shit. All in all it was a great night followed by great 'sleep.'

I hope Alex gets back tomorrow from Hawaii because i really want to see her before i head down to Autumn's wedding. I am leaving Thursday around noon, meeting the girls at Alderwood then going to dinner with the wedding group at the Old Spaghetti Factory. Friday is the wedding, and the day will be spent primping/hair/makeup/drinking champagne etc. I am excited to wear my new dress. I am going to drive back up probably Saturday morning. I am so excited to see Zoe too, who we haven't seen since she left for AZ.

One more week of classes!!! I can't believe i am graduating. My graduation party is going to be so much fun and i'm excited to see my family. Gah. Even more excited to see Ching too!!

Rode Ozzie on Sunday and am still sore. Such a bitch.

Ciao.

9 Days Left

All the things that have happened over the last 4 months have been so great. I found myself. I found myself after being underneath so much for so much. It has been the best discovery and i have never been happier.

The Dark Knight was so much fun. I am so excited to go to Autumn's wedding on Friday too. I love my friends.

I can't wait to be done with classes. Only 9 days left of undergraduate. Then Ching will be here :) My parents have been planning my graduation party for weeks now, it's adorable.

Gah, there are just so many things :)

Zoo/Joker/Hella Midterms

I am in love with the zoo. Pictures to follow once my camera's battery is awake. A good day for sure :)

A good week ahead in general too. I am beyond excited for this on Thursday night....

Wednesday is dress shopping for Autumn's wedding, which will be fabulous. Tomorrow after my 2 midterms, i will only have one left for the week. Which means i can finally begin to read books i want to!! I still have a few to finish, gah. Amazing weather lately too, this feels like a real summer. Once Aug. 1st comes, there will be much more laying by the ocean/lake and a lot more late nights outside.

Post Secret steals my heart and so did this one-->

Halsey Come Back

The more time that passes the more events come to light. I could analyze these, figure out why, and other bullshit. But the best part is, it doesn't concern me anymore :) Knowing, for once, in five years i am free from all of it, is worth it enough. The people around me now, are by far, the greatest people i have ever known and i love them all so so much.

Zoo trip tomorrow! I haven't been to the zoo in so long. I hope to see my favorite bush baby ever.

4 midterms this week as well, however i have tickets to the midnight Batman showing, so that makes up for it :) Plus, party at the cove on Saturday, which will be nice. Autumn's wedding next Friday, when i get to see Zoe!! Then, before i know it, August first will roll around and i will be DONE with my undergraduate studies. Alas. A break, then onto bigger and better things :) Like hella grad school.

A Year Later

I like to look at how things were a year ago. Who would have guessed? For one, i can't believe it's already been a year, when it feels like yesterday really. It's been....an odd year. I am in a much better place now than i was then.

I never thought i would even step foot in that place again, however, given the circumstances, i did, and the weirdest part was...it didn't bother me? It was surreal really. Maybe i was/am just numb to it, but i really don't think it matters. All that matters is that i now see it for what it was and as unfortunate as it was to happen how it did, that's what happened. And it's done and there is no going back. I'm so happy about that too.

I have had more fun the last 3 months than i have in so long. I am happier now than i have been in probably years. I have never felt so detached from dependency, i win.

However. There is that anxious part of me awaiting the next 3-5 days? I don't talk about it because i don't want to jinx it, even though everyone tells me good things, but i don't want to hear the good things unless they come from the source. Gah. It feels like it's been longer than it has. *sigh*

ANYWAY. I am so so excited for 80's night tomorrow. More excited to sleep the fuck in on Friday. Not that excited to work at the jail Saturday, mainly because it's at 9am, which blows. However, Saturday means closer to Monday, so yeah. Gah.

I think the best part of 'discovering who i am without someone' has been the recognition of the lies/betrayals/manipulations/and just mental torment people go through, that is so unnecessary. The shit people do. And i am very much as guilty, well maybe not AS guilty, but i've done some fucked up shit. I feel bad for the ones i hurt, who i actually do care about.

Okay. Off to sex and relationships. I could teach the damn class.

Ciao.
